Laundry is the chore that never ends. It fills Sundays, steals evenings, and sits in corners waiting to be folded. We thought it deserved better.
Dear Launder is a small operation in Queens. A handful of people who care about fabric, about neighborhoods, and about doing one thing well. Every bag that comes through our door is sorted by hand, washed to your preferences, and folded with intention.
We don't pretend to be a technology company. We're a laundry service. A neighborhood business that happens to pick up from your door and bring things back clean, folded, and wrapped.
So we built something simpler.
What we believe
Good laundry is not about speed. It's about attention. The kind that notices a stain before it sets, that pairs socks without being asked, that folds shirts flat the way you'd want them in a drawer.
We believe a service can be both simple and considered. That convenience doesn't have to mean careless. That a neighborhood business can do one thing well and that being enough.
How we work
We pick up in the evening, between seven and ten. We wash overnight to your saved preferences. We fold by hand the next morning. We return everything in three to four days.
Every bag is weighed and tagged on arrival. Pockets are checked individually. Lights and darks are separated. Delicates are flagged. Nothing goes in the machine that shouldn't.
Why "Dear"
"Dear" is how a letter begins. It is addressed to someone specific, written with care, and means to say: I see you. This is for you.
We named the service Dear Launder because we wanted it to feel personal. Not a platform, not a portal. A service that knows your address, remembers your detergent, and shows up when it said it would.
What we're building
For now, we serve Queens. A borough we know well, built on neighbors who take care of each other. We know the buildings on 30th Avenue and the doormen on Ditmars.
We're growing slowly and on purpose. More neighborhoods when we can do them well. More services when we can do them right.
